The Key Account Manager (m/f/d) - Automotive Safety Products role manages key customer relationships and drives business growth for a global manufacturer operating across the materials, chemicals, and automotive sectors. The position covers sales strategy, commercial negotiations, forecasting, and coordination with headquarters and global group companies.
Responsibilities
Manage sales and marketing activities for automotive safety products within the relevant Strategic Business Unit (SBU), including Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes, pricing, customer negotiations, and coordination with internal stakeholders
Prepare and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and performance tracking
Act as a key liaison between customers, headquarters in Japan, and global group companies
Prepare monthly business reports, presentations, and other internal and external documentation
Requirements
At least 5 years of sales experience within the automotive industry
Experience managing automotive RFQ processes through to Start of Production (SOP)
Business-level proficiency in German, English, and Japanese
Experience negotiating with European customers and business partners
Proven track record of driving business growth and achieving significant sales expansion
Strong analytical and presentation skills using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and related tools
Experience working in a Japan-based business environment
Self-driven and proactive working style with strong initiative
Ability to work independently without close supervision
Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
Flexibility and willingness to take ownership of business challenges
Additional information
Full-time, permanent position
Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 18:00, totalling 40 hours per week
The position is based near Frankfurt in Raunheim
Remote work is available 2–3 days per week
